I found this book to be very relatable and to challenge my way of thinking. It gave me insight to my BED struggle and keys to overcome it. I had never heard of intuitive eating, therefore never tried it and i can say that my initial reaction was disbelief and to shun the concept. However after i mulled it over, it really is simple and straightforward. It makes sense and i’m excited to give it a try.

5.0 out of 5 starsRequired reading for anyone seeking peace with food and body!!! This book is game changing. Emotional eating, overreating, mindless eating, binge eating...it covers it all. Gently and compassionately, this book manages to get right down to the evidence-based concrete tools that are fundamental to breaking free from the feast-famine roller coaster. This is an interactive book - and if you do the journal prompts, even just making notes in the margins, I promise light bulbs will go off...lightbulbs that you can’t and won’t want to turn back on. I felt my perspective expanding in what a relationship to food and body image can look like with concepts like intuitive eating, mindfulness, self compassion and health at every size. This is a book I re-reference often. A must-read for anyone looking to heal their relationship with food and drop the rope when it comes to the restrict-binge tug of war.

We all need those personal connections; a good friend to talk to, a trusted co-worker. This book starts by defining and identifying loneliness and moves through discussions and exercises for healing, improving self confidence, embracing solitude, and explaining the foundations of healthy relationships. Each chapter has reflection points that really help you think about what you’ve read. 5.0 out of 5 starsReading this feels like talking to a trusted friend I felt so comforted when reading this book, and even a bit less alone! The author has a warm, nonjudgmental, yet encouraging tone that helped me take a deeper look at the way loneliness plays out in my life, and also helped me gain insight into what loved ones may experience in this realm. It was a good reminder that loneliness is a part of the human condition, we all experience it in varied forms, at varied times, with varied consequences. The author spoke to the universality of loneliness up front in a way that felt like an invitation to delve deeper, and I could imagine would be especially useful in moments when we want to run from these feelings and experiences. I'm so glad to have found a deep dive look at the topic and plan to recommend this book to many friends and family members.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. 5.0 out of 5 starsA thoughtful, comprehensive approach to healing loneliness This beautiful little book is the perfect fellow traveler for your journey from loneliness to connection. The author weaves in helpful research about loneliness and the need for connection, psychological tools and theories that will help you understand why you feel the way you do, and how to make changes if you need to, bits of wisdom and insight, affirmations, and prompts for journaling, self-reflection, and behavioral changes. She focuses on self-compassion, and establishing a solid, healthy relationship to oneself first, then takes the reader into how to build a better relationship with others. I especially love how the author emphasizes embracing solitude vs. dwelling on loneliness. The overall message is that you are important and worth loving and caring about, and that you can enjoy your own company and from there experience a richer, more joyful life.

5.0 out of 5 starsHighly recommend this book to help make more meaningful connection with yourself and others I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking greater connections with others and deeper understanding of the human experience of loneliness. This book provides a lot of insight and questions for the reader to ask themselves about their own history and beliefs that may be hindering them from developing more meaningful connection in their lives. I found it helpful to reflect on how my own shame or fears may be keeping me from getting closer to friends and people I'd like to feel more understood with. The book was also very comforting and engaging to read, I enjoyed hearing other people's stories and I could relate a lot.
